The brother of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez has been killed during a home invasion in Mexico, according to several media reports. The Daily Mail reported Chavez's brother, Rafael Chavez Gonzalez, he was killed in front of his family.

During a news conference, as reported by the Chicago Tribune, Sinaloa state prosecutor Juan Jose Rios said two men entered the rear of Chavez Gonzalez's home — one had a gun — and demanded money. While Chavez Gonzalez' gave them some cash they demanded more, but when Chavez Gonzalez' resisted, he was shot dead. Chavez Gonzalez' brother told the Daily Mail he was shot in front of his family.
Julio Cesar Chavez, now 54, is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He's a six-time world champion in three different weight classes and shares records for the most successful world title defenses (27) and most title fight victories (31). In a 25-year career in the ring, he fought 115 times, winning 107 (86 by KO) against just six loses and two draws, and he's widely considered the greatest boxer to ever come out of the Mexico and one of the greatest of all time.
