Portuguese MMA fighter Joao Carvalho, just 28, passed away less than 48 hours after dropping a welterweight fight against Charlie Ward Saturday night.
According to a statement released by his team, Carvalho felt bad about 20 minutes after his TKO loss and was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent brain surgery.
He was in critical condition from that point on and tragically passed away Monday evening.
