Opening match at WWE Payback results in stunning title change

Nobody saw this coming.

Raw-exclusive pay-per-view Payback kicked off Sunday night with a WWE United States Championship match between former best friends turned bitter rivals: Kevin Owens (c.) vs. Chris Jericho.

In a very exciting opening bout, Jericho made Owens tap out to the Walls of Jericho to win the title.

Because Owens moved to Smackdown Live in the Superstar Shakeup, if Jericho won the match he'd move over to Smackdown Live. He won, so fans will now see Y2J on a different night going forward.

What's also interesting is that Jericho was rumored to be taking time off after WrestleMania 34, but with this victory he clearly is not and should be sticking around for the summer.

Some of Jericho's best work have come on Smackdown, so it should be fun to see one of WWE's hottest babyface acts on Tuesday nights for a while.
