UFC legend Tito Ortiz ended his career in customary fashion with a dominant first round win over trash-talking Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170 over the weekend.
It was a complete anticlimax as the all too brief fireworks in the cage, which lasted exactly 2:03, were completely dwarfed by the prefight hoopla leading up to it.
At a press conference for the bout on Thursday, Sonnen levied the lowest of low blows with some verbal sparring aimed at Ortiz's ex-wife, porn star Jenna Jameson.
"Tito always says I'm using my mouth to get my opportunities," Sonnen said. "The only person that I know that made money using their mouth is his ex-wife."
Ortiz didn't take kindly to the barb and you just knew it would result in his own brand of justice being meted out in the cage. After two minutes, Ortiz finally got Sonnen in a chokehold and, perhaps to pay him back for the slight, Ortiz held on to the hold for a few seconds after Sonnen tapped out.

The win marked the 19th victory of Ortiz's storied career, one that spans 20 years and includes a reign of three years as UFC's Light Heavyweight Champion. He retired back in 2012 after his last UFC fight, a loss to Forrest Griffin, but ultimately came back and fought four more times, going 3-1 in those bouts.
This time, however, Ortiz's retirement came with some finality, The 42-year-old UFC Hall of Famer brought his son into the cage after the fight, laid his gloves on the mat and officially announced that he was hanging it up.
