Conor McGregor is no longer the UFC featherweight champion.

With McGregor noting he won't fight until May of next year, and the UFC in desperate need of adding big names to its upcoming cards, the champ now only holds the lightweight crown.
Details have differed on how McGregor dropped the belt depending on who you ask:
The belt has now been handed to Jose Aldo, who McGregor knocked out in 13 seconds last year.
Max Holloway will fight Anthony Pettis in an interim title bout at UFC 206 after light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was pulled from the card with an injury.
McGregor could always drop down to featherweight and fight for the belt again. Or he could move up to welterweight, with a showdown against Tyron Woodley in the future.
