Vasyl Lomachenko and Roman Martinez met in the ring Saturday night for the chance to become the World Boxing Organization's super-featherweight champion. We got our champ in the fifth round when Lomachenko landed a vicious right hook on Martinez that sent him to the mat.
Martinez struggled to get up, but couldn't find the strength after taking a hit like this straight to the face:
The brutal fifth-round knockout saw Lomachenko make history by becoming the first boxer to win a second world title in a different weight class in just his seventh fight. He had won the featherweight title in only his third fight of his career and now he will get to add a belt to his trophy case that includes two Olympics medals he won in 2008 and 2012.
