UPDATE: WWE noted later in the PPV that Amore suffered a concussion and that medical personnel was running more tests throughout the evening.
Up-and-coming superstars Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady were two of the hottest young wrestlers in the WWE coming into Sunday's Payback before a serious-looking injury appeared to derail their rise to fame.
During a match with the Vaudevillains for the No. 1 contender spot, the scripted world of pro wrestling turned very real when Amore went to take a toss outside of the ring and his head bounced off the rope, hit the apron and hit the rope again before he fell limp to the outside of the ring.
The match was abruptly stopped, the camera panned to the concerned announcers and Amore was carried out of the area on a stretcher.
This sport is more real than people think. Thoughts and prayers with Enzo.

He did not appear to move as he was being taken away. It was later reported he was able to move his extremities, was able to talk and was being taken to a local medical facility.
We'll have more on this as we get updates.
