After it was revealed back in July that former Intercontinental champion and WWE title contender Shelton Benjamin would be returning to the arguably the top wrestling promotion in the world.
While it became unclear if he'd return at all after announcing a "serious shoulder injury," the Wrestling Observer (per Reddit) is reporting WWE is still very interested in Benjamin after he recovers from a torn rotator cuff, which is expected to sideline him for six months.

Benjamin wrestled at the collegiate level with the University of Minnesota before he joined WWE. He debuted on television in 2002, where he quickly gained acclaim for his elite athleticism and high-flying, high-risk moves. Benjamin won the Intercontinental, U.S., and tag team championships before he was released in 2010.
He'd be a welcome addition to a Smackdown brand lacking serious contenders for the company's biggest title.
