WWE NXT standout Austin Aries suffered a nasty orbital fracture after getting kicked in the face by Shinsuke Nakamura and is set to undergo surgery, per WrestleZone.
The King of Strong Style lived up to his billing, popping Aries so hard with a swift kick that the match had to be stopped abruptly.
Aries was able to walk it off momentarily, but shared a pretty gruesome the next day:
It's really too bad, as Aries seemed to be hitting his stride as a top-tier heel in NXT.
The move comes just weeks after Hideo Itami was knocked out of action and is slated to miss two months of action.
