Elena Moore, 39, died from cardiac dysrhythmia with premature ventricular contractions, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher confirmed, according to the New York Post's Alex Diaz.
Fisher classified the manner of death as natural and said investigators "never saw anything that indicated homicide."
The findings come nearly four months after Moore's body was discovered June 17, six days after she went missing.
Moore was last seen June 11 at a Planet Fitness in Lexington, approximately 14 miles outside Columbia. Surveillance footage captured her at the gym's reception desk before she headed toward a wooded area behind a nearby Lowe's store.
Her disappearance drew concern from people who knew her. Neighbors reported changes in her behavior during the preceding week, according to the Post.
Fisher described Moore as having experienced a "full mental crisis" before her death. The report did not provide further details about that description or establish that it caused the fatal heart complications.
The coroner's determination identifies a natural medical cause of death following months of questions about what happened to Moore.
Authorities' findings did not indicate that another person caused her death, Fisher said.
