The 18-year-old Battle Ground Academy quarterback was injured against Pope John Paul II after being sacked and landing hard on his right shoulder, The Tennessean reported. The play occurred during the Wildcats' second possession in the first quarter, with the teams still scoreless.
Bo later appeared on the sideline with his shoulder pads removed and his right arm in a sling. He subsequently confirmed the injury in a social media update.
"Broke my collarbone last night," he wrote, per Taste of Country. "Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We will be back."
A timetable for his return has not been announced.
The injury interrupts a strong first full season as Battle Ground Academy's starting quarterback. Bo entered Friday's game with 2,006 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and just three interceptions through seven games, helping the Wildcats build a 6-1 record.
He also received multiple college football scholarship offers over the summer, according to Taste of Country.
Bryan has made room in his touring schedule to watch his son play, keeping Friday nights free this fall to attend games. His wife, Caroline, has also shared her support, posting a photo celebrating a win with Bo earlier in the season.
For Bo, the next step is recovery after an injury halted what had been a productive season leading the Wildcats' offense.
