According to CNBC, the Martin County Sheriff's Office affidavit said that the golf pro had "bloodshot and glassy eyes" and "extremely dilated pupils" when authorities arrived at the scene of the crash. They added that he was "sweating profusely" as he sat in another vehicle that had the air conditioning running.

The incident occurred when Woods traveled down a two-lane rode near his home. He crossed over the double painted lines when the Ford F-150 pulling a trailer ahead of him slowed to make a turn into a driveway. Woods' Land rover hit the rear fender of the trailer and flipped over onto the driver's side.

Woods told the authorities that he was changing the radio station and looking at his phone prior to the crash.

According to the affidavit, Woods submitted to a breathalyzer but refused to submit a urine test. The deputy wrote in the affidavit that the golfer had slow and lethargic movements during the investigation. The deputy noted that Woods had the hiccups at the time.

"I asked Woods if he consumed any illegal substances, to which he stated no," the deputy wrote. "I asked Woods if he consumed any alcoholic beverage to drink today to which he stated 'none.'"

A search revealed two white pills in Woods' left pants pocket. The label identified them as hydrocodone, which is an opioid medication.

"I asked Woods if he consumed any prescription medication to which he stated, 'I take a few,'" the deputy wrote.

Woods reportedly struggled with other parts of the field sobriety test, which included the finger to nose test. He reportedly closed his eyes at the wrong time and needed reminders from the authorities conducting the test.

He also reportedly struggled with multiple parts of the coordination test, including starting before the authorities finished providing instructions.

The result is that the Martin County Sheriff's Office placed Woods under arrest for driving under the influence (DUI). He was released later that same day. He will have a court appearance next month.
