Donald Trump, Joe Biden Argue About Golf During 2024 Presidential Debate

The 2024 Presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump was supposed to cover topics such as the economy, immigration, foreign policy, and critical issues concerning the country. That is to say, about 20 minutes in, the moderator brought up each of the candidates' ages.

And this is when things took a weird turn, to an already strange debate. As Trump, 78, and Biden, 81, both started arguing about who was better at golf.

First, Trump bragged about passing his cognitive and fitness tests, then brought up the fact that he won golf championships.

"I just won two club championships, not even senior," Trump said. "Two regular club championships. To do that, you have to be quite smart, and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. He doesn't do it. He can't hit a ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a golf match; he can't hit a ball 50 yards."

This is when Biden countered by referencing his opponent's height and weight, seemingly calling him fat.

Biden responded by claiming he was better at golf, saying that at his best he can hit +6 over par.

"Look I'd be happy to have a driving contest with him," President Joe Biden said. "I'll remind you I got my handicap when I was vice president down to a six."

Trump shook his head, and laughed as he didn't believe it.

Biden continued, "By the way, I've told you before I'm happy to play golf with you if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?"

Trump responded, "That's the biggest lie that he's a six handicap, of all."

"I was a eight handicap, eight ..." Biden backtracked.

Trump shook his head and said, "never" under his breath.

"I've seen your swing, I know how you swing," Trump said.

Trump says, "Let's not act like children."

"You are a child," Biden responds.

Although one's ability to hit a golf ball is not a prerequisite to be president of the United States of America, many would like to see a Biden/Trump matchup on the course.
