Ever since LIV Golf was founded in the summer of 2022, the PGA Tour has been in a stand-off with the Saudi-backed league.

That is to say, on June 6, 2023, even though PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan and Saudi PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan shook on a framework agreement, nearly a year and a half later, there is still a back-and-forth between both sides.
2024 Presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has hosted LIV golf events on his courses, says he can save golf if he is elected into the Oval Office.
The day before the 2024 presidential election, Trump appeared on the 'Let's Go!' podcast with Bill Belichick, and the former Commander-in-Chief spoke about the golf civil war.
"I do think we should have one tour, and they should have the best players in that tour, meaning you have many tours, but your primary tour... Because when Scotty wins or when they win on the other tour, we have a lot of... there's a lot of great players. I mean, beyond great. It's really top, top players on LIV."
He continued, "It would be nice if they could all play together. It's terrible when somebody's shut out of a major. It's terrible. But they're very happy with Saudi. They're over there and they're very happy about it. They really are. It's amazing."
The former President went on to say, although this would be far down on the "to-do list," he could get it done.
"But I think it'll come together. Yeah, I could certainly help, but I could probably get it done. I would say it would take me the better part of 15 minutes to get that deal done."
