A golf course employee died after he was found pinned beneath a lawn mower in a pond at an Illinois course, authorities said.

Jay L. Roush, 64, was discovered unresponsive at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Paris, Illinois, according to the Edgar County Coroner's Office, via WCIA.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the course shortly after noon after receiving reports of an employee trapped beneath a mower in a pond. Personnel from multiple local agencies, including police, fire and ambulance services, responded to the scene.
Authorities said another golf course employee went searching for Roush after being unable to reach him by phone. He was later found pinned underneath a zero-turn mower in approximately three feet of water.
Roush, a resident of nearby Vermilion, was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner's office.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the mower to enter the pond.
The Edgar County Sheriff's Department and Edgar County Coroner's Office are continuing to investigate the incident. Officials said an autopsy was scheduled to help determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not indicated that foul play is suspected.
