Things boiled over at Augusta. Specifically, World No. 8 golfer Robert MacIntyre let his frustration show in a big way during the opening round of The Masters, and it didn't go unnoticed.

After hitting a shot into the water on the 15th hole, MacIntyre reacted in the heat of the moment, making a gesture toward the camera before finishing the hole with a quadruple bogey.
But it didn't stop there.
Later in the round, he slammed a club into the ground and was heard expressing his frustration multiple times as things continued to spiral.
At Augusta, that kind of behavior stands out.
Masters officials reportedly addressed the situation and reminded MacIntyre of the tournament's code of conduct, which is known for holding players to a higher standard than most events.
And the timing made it tougher.
MacIntyre entered the week playing some of the best golf of his career, coming off strong finishes and sitting among the top players in the world.
Instead, Day One left him near the bottom of the leaderboard, outside the cut line and searching for answers. To his credit, he tried to respond.
On Friday, MacIntyre came out sharper, putting together a stretch of birdies and showing signs of a turnaround.
Still, the spotlight remained on what happened the day before.
MacIntyre has never hidden who he is on the course.
"I know I am volatile," he said recently. "That's just me."
And for better or worse, that side of him was on full display at Augusta. Now, it's something he'll have to move past as he looks to climb back into contention.
