The incident that happened at the Valhalla Golf Club, was referred to by Scheffler as a "big misunderstanding," and since then all charges have been dropped because the accusatory officers broke protocol by not activating body cameras during the arrest.

That is to say, according to Wave 3 News one of Scheffler's arresting officers, by the name of Javar Downs, has now been arrested himself for stealing $4,000 he seized from a suspect, who was being booked into jail.

Apparently the Louisville Metro police officer, Downs, took money from an envelope that he found while searching a man. To note, despite the alleged theft of $4,000, the owner of the money claims there was $10,000 originally.

In view of the police officer's arrest, Downs is being charged with theft (by unlawful taking over $1,000) and official misconduct. Being that, the police department has placed Downs on emergency suspension, and will begin the process of terminating his employment, according to a statement.

"Allegations of officer malfeasance are taken very seriously. LMPD prioritizes accountability and remains committed to conducting thorough and expedient investigations in the best interests of all parties involved," LMPD said in a statement.

In view of the this, Downs is expected to be arraigned in court on Tuesday, August 27 at 9 am ET.
