Paige Spiranac didn't keep a dime of her winnings from the Barstool Sports Internet Invitational. Instead, she gave it all away.

After pocketing somewhere in the ballpark of fifteen to sixteen thousand dollars in skins money, Spiranac quietly donated the entire haul to the family of Cody "Beef" Franke, the late Barstool personality who passed away in October.

The gesture was revealed by Barstool's Francis Ellis on the Son of a Boy Dad podcast.

It landed at a time when Spiranac was still dealing with the fallout from an online "cheating" controversy tied to the event. A clip from the second day appeared to show her pushing down grass near the ninth-hole rough, supposedly improving the lie for competitor Malosi Togisala.

Spiranac said she never touched the ball, never intended to help anyone, and never expected to face a tidal wave of vitriol.

According to Spiranac, she received "tens of thousands of death threats" over the video. She still showed up, still played, and then donated her winnings to help a grieving family.

Ellis called it a classy move from someone "beaten up in the dark corridors of the internet." And for all the noise around her, Spiranac's action said plenty about where her heart was — and wasn't — during the event.
