In a series of Instagram Story posts, the golf influencer fought through tears while reacting to the negativity she's seen online during the $1 million Barstool-backed event.

She shared a screenshot of one vulgar DM, which told her to "go kill yourself."

"This hate for some reason has just been really hitting home for me," Spiranac said. "I struggled socially my entire life ... making friends, keeping friends, relating to other people, reading social cues."

She said she actually felt like she fit in during the event, but the backlash and online commentary since then have pulled her back into those old doubts.

"It's just been really hard to see this reaction to being unliked and hated," Spiranac added. "It's confirmation that no, you're actually not liked ... you suck and you're terrible and all these things."

Spiranac's team advanced out of the opening rounds, and she remains in the mix for the $1 million prize with 23 others.

On Tuesday morning, she tried to lighten the mood again.

"Sorry for being emo last night ... I'll save my deep dark insecurities for therapy next time lol," she wrote.

The Internet Invitational will continue airing over the next two weeks with 48 golf creators competing.
