The legendary golfer released a heartfelt tribute statement on X.

"It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning," Woods wrote. "My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible.

"She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie," Tiger continued. "Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you Mom."

In view of his mother's support, Kultida was with Tiger for his first Masters win in 1997 at the age of 21, and just a couple weeks ago, she was in attendance to watch her son in his TGL debut.

U.S. President Donald Trump gave his condolences to Tiger.

Kultida was of Thai, Chinese, and Dutch ancestors, and had met Tiger's father, Earl, in 1968 when he was on tour for the military in Thailand.

Tiger's mom had much influence over his career, as she is even the reason why he wore red on the last day of golf tournaments.

"I wear red on Sundays because my mom thinks that is my power color," Tiger once said. "You know, you should always listen to your mom."

Woods has also expressed that in his mother's home country of Thailand, the tradition there is that people wear certain colors based on the day of the week. And it just so happens to be that Sunday's color is known to be red.

Certainly mom was right, as Tiger went on to dominate in red, winning 15 golf majors.
