Tony Romo will be making his CBS debut much sooner than anticipated

He'll be officially introduced as member of the CBS team.

Tony Romo is set to make his broadcasting debut at CBS, and it won't be for a football game.

According to NFL.com's Kevin Patra, Romo will make his debut this weekend at the 18th hole of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational. Romo will appear with his future broadcast partner Jim Nantz, as well as Nick Faldo.

CBS Sports Producer Lance Barrow broke the news at a black-tie event on Monday night prior to the tournament. The tournament is held at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Romo has a background in golf, and he attempted to qualify for the U.S. Open after he retired from the Dallas Cowboys.

Romo will be officially introduced as a member of the CBS team during his appearance at the tournament, and it should be a low pressure event for him to get started.
