John Daly has seen it all on a golf course. But even this felt different.

The two-time major champion had one of the strangest moments of the weekend at the Cologuard Classic in Tucson, briefly disappearing into the desert after losing his footing on a shot. Yes, actually disappearing.

Daly shared the clip himself, captioning it, "On today's episode of Jacka**," and the video delivered. After stepping into a native area at La Paloma Country Club, Daly hits his shot, then slips, goes full bellyflop and slides down a hill out of sight.
Just like that, he's gone.
It looked bad for a second. Then came the assist. Daly credited musician Joel Cooley for jumping in to help, calling him a "true buddy sliding into save." It was the kind of chaotic moment that somehow fits Daly's career perfectly.
Here's the part that makes it even better. The shot itself? Solid. And the round? Also solid.
Daly finished with a 68 and ended up tied for 29th in an event won by Steven Alker in a playoff over Padraig Harrington, per Golf Digest.
That's peak Daly. Take a tumble into the desert, laugh it off, post it online and still card a respectable score. Most players would be rattled. Daly turned it into content and kept moving.
More importantly, he was fine. And if there's a takeaway here, it's a simple one: Watch your step out there.
