How no one was immediately arrested after all that is beyond me.
"It was chaos," videographer Zachary Simmons told WTAE. "Chaos was everywhere. "The second a punch was thrown between players on the court, the whole gym took the opportunity to take it out."
Sounds like a leaky faucet that gave way. Here's a different angle of the madness:
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the 2018 brawl began when a Clairton player and Monessen player threw punches at each other in front of Monessen's bench.
Both the schools' sports programs were given five years of probation on top of other penalties by the WPIAL board of directors. According to the Post-Gazette, police reviewed footage from the brawl and charged 12 people, including six adults with disorderly conduct. Two of them were baseball coaches at Clairton.
Anyway, the game was called with 4:24 remaining in the fourth quarter. No word if the people who paid full price for an entire game were refunded — or if they might be forced to pay extra for the random WWE Brawl For It All that took place.
