And months later, the case is still raising troubling questions.

According to reports cited by The Sun, the family of a 16-year-old student claims Turner sent the teen explicit messages over a period of several months. The allegations surfaced after the girl was reportedly overheard discussing the situation at school, which led to authorities becoming involved.

What happened next moved quickly.

Turner, a 46-year-old married father of three, vanished on Nov. 20 as investigators were heading to his home in Big Stone Gap to question him as part of a child exploitation investigation. Authorities later said he disappeared into a nearby wooded area, triggering an extensive search.

He has not been seen since.

The student involved has not been publicly identified. According to family members, she has struggled in the aftermath and has faced bullying from other students following the incident.

Meanwhile, the girl's family has criticized the local school district's handling of the situation, claiming the allegations were not properly reported and suggesting the school initially treated the coach as a possible victim.

Police and school officials have released few updates since Turner's disappearance.

Turner's family has continued to maintain his innocence.
