Major League Baseball is one of those sports where we've seen plenty of father-son duos over the years, epitomized by Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. playing together in 1990. We also have Vlad Guerrero Jr. and Sr., who didn't play together but are/were both wildly successful.
Well, it looks as though we could see another duo emerge in the coming years with Gary Sheffield and his son, Noah, who's currently still in high school.
Noah, who's slated to graduate in 2024 from Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida, had quite a game earlier this month against Naples. He hit a walk-off two-run home run to send Jesuit to a 4-2 win and broke baseball fans' minds for one glaring reason.

While the Gary Sheffield video doesn't have the precise angle as Noah's, we all know Gary's legendary batting stance. Both right-handers, Noah and Gary have a violent motion with the bat where they hold it up and rock it forward and back into the "starting position."
When I was a kid, it always looked as if Sheffield was revving up to hit — and it appears to be something he's taught his son, Noah. If the idea behind that stance is to "rev up," Noah showed the value of it in his walk-off home run.

Dad Gary Sheffield played in the MLB from 1988 to 2009 for several teams including the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers and New York Mets.
His son, Noah, was a member of the 14U Select Festival in 2021. As a junior in the 2022-23 season, he plays for the varsity team at Jesuit High School. Trough 30 games, Noah is hitting .293 in 82 at-bats, with 24 hits, 20 runs, three home runs, 23 RBIs and seven doubles. He's listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. On MaxPreps, he's listed as an infielder and wears No. 23.
In 2021, at the age of 14, Sheffield committed to Florida State University. He was surrounded by his family while he committed.
Based on his home run swing alone, it's not unlikely that we'll see Noah Sheffield suiting up in an MLB uniform in the coming years.
