Pettiness has its time and place. For the Las Vegas, that time is right now, and that place was their championship parade.
The Aces — who just won their second consecutive WNBA championship last week against the New York Liberty — have brought out all the receipts from their Finals victory.
One Finals moment that seemed to irk the Aces was when Sabrina Ionescu did a "night night" celebration after hitting a clutch 3-pointer in Game 3 — the only game the Liberty won all series. Aces guard Sydney Colson didn't take too kindly to the celebration.
Initially, Colson — who has been beefing with Ionescu ever since Ionescu told her to "take her ass to the bench" earlier this season — mocked the "night night" celebration right after the Game 4 Finals-clinching victory. Colson then did the celebration again during Tuesday's championship parade, which prompted teammate Chelsea Gray to say before the Vegas crowd, "They messed up when they went 'night night.' And [Colson] said I'm sitting on that Sabrina!" — which even got Aces coach Becky Hammon to mimic the celebration.

Hammon also took a shot at the Liberty's star player, Breanna Stewart, during the parade. After Stewart — who was guarded by the Aces' Alysha Clark for most of Game 4 — went 3-17 from the field during the Game 4 loss, Clark asked Hammon to "talk about it" during her parade speech.
Hammon's response? "3-for-17 is all you need to talk about it."

A'ja Wilson — the 2023 WNBA Finals MVP — elected to address her third-place finish of the 2023 WNBA MVP Award during the parade by wearing a shirt that had her MVP voting tallies on its back. Wilson finished behind Stewart and Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas for the MVP award. Wilson's shirt also called out the person who voted for her in fourth place, noting that she was going to use that as fuel for next season.

After repeating as WNBA champs and becoming an undeniable dynasty, the Las Vegas Aces have earned the right to be petty. Yet, one would imagine that the New York Liberty players have been seeing everything the Aces have said (and done) about them since the victory — and, like Wilson, will be using it as fuel for next season.
Not that the Aces care.
