The New York Yankees' star missed Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians, a 9-4 loss, while dealing with a bone bruise in his rib cage. This injury also affects his shoulder and causes discomfort when he swings.
The team said that Judge has been managing nagging soreness in his shoulder for a couple of weeks. However, it has become more of a problem.
"It's kind of a unique spot," manager Aaron Boone said after Judge underwent imaging. "We'll have the specialist probably look at it tomorrow and see where we're at and see how he feels (Wednesday) with it."

The Yankees' starter met with team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad, and it is possible that he lands on the Injured List. This is not yet a certainty. The team currently views his status as day-to-day as it continues a series against the Guardians on Wednesday night (7:05 p.m. ET) and Thursday afternoon (1:35 p.m. ET).
Boone said that hopefully, this issue is something that the team can "get calmed down" and put behind them as they move forward with the season.
Judge, a three-time MVP, has played in 59 games this season while leading the Yankees' lineup. He has hit 17 home runs and accounted for 38 RBIs in his 214 at-bat appearances. He has scored 43 runs this season, so any absence would significantly impact the Yankees.
We'd love to have him in the lineup for this team; he's the captain for a reason," Paul Goldschmidt said, per the team website.
"But if he does end up missing time, whether it's short or long, the guys that are here are going to have to step up and play well."
