The Mets kicked off their season Thursday. Christopher Jackson had a moment he'd probably like back.

The Broadway star, best known for playing George Washington in Hamilton, performed the national anthem at Citi Field and briefly lost his place mid-song. The slip came at the line "O'er the ramparts we watched," where Jackson paused before jumping ahead to "What so proudly we hailed."

The moment didn't take long to hit social media, with fan videos circulating almost immediately.

Jackson addressed it head-on afterward, keeping it real.

"I've had the honor of singing the national anthem countless times," he told TMZ. "Today it was for about five seconds ... and one line got away from me. I'm human."

He also pointed out the challenge of performing in a stadium setting, where sound and timing can throw even experienced performers off. Jackson has handled anthem duties at major events before, including NFL playoff games and a Yankees game last season.

Fans had mixed reactions online. Some saw it as a rough start to the Mets' year. Others shrugged it off as an honest mistake from a seasoned performer.

Either way, it was a brief hiccup on a big stage. Jackson owned it, moved on, and didn't duck the moment.
