MLB Player Hilariously Drilled in Groin in the Most Painful Slide Ever

We wish we could tell you that during an MLB game no balls are harmed during the nine-inning affair, but that wasn't the case for Monday's game between the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers.

Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo attempted to steal second base, and let's just say Guardians catcher Mike Zunino wasn't having it.
In almost too-good-to-be-anything-else fashion, Zunino fired the ball to Guardians infielder Andre Gimenez. In the process, the baseball bounced off, well, Baddoo's nether region. Gimenez still was able to still snag the ball, and Baddoo was tagged out.
A double-whammy, if you will.

While Baddoo is only making about $682,000 this year, according to Spotrac, we can confirm that this is plenty enough to buy a cup from Dick's Sporting Goods or another sporting goods store to prevent this from occurring again.

Despite this, Baddoo fought through and remained in the game. He didn't really do much, finishing 0-for-4 with a walk, but he battled on nonetheless. He was the only starter in the lineup to not get a hit.

Hey, at least he still has his crown jewels though. The funniest part was that it was his juevos that betrayed him — the ball bounced right off his groin and into the fielder's glove. Otherwise, he would have been safe.

The Tigers went on to win the game 6-2, receiving offensive production from Andy Ibanez, who hit a solo home run. Tigers starting pitcher Joey Wentz went 5 ?..." innings, notching five strikeouts and allowing three hits, two earned runs and three walks.

Baddoo is batting .221 on the year, with two RBIs through 21 games. He's played with the team since 2021. He was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins and was claimed in the Rule 5 Draft in December 2020 by the Tigers.

Throughout his career with the Tigers, he's hit 15 home runs and has 66 RBIs and 30 successful stolen bases — but he'll certainly always remember this attempt.
