The 20-year-old lefthander was on the suspended/restricted list for the entire 2016 season, according to the New York Post. The newspaper reported he was shot multiple times outside of a party and died as a result.
The reason for Figueredo's suspension hasn't been publicly divulged. The Post noted that he was not considered a top prospect and chances are he would not have been back with the team as a result of his suspension.
