Brett Gardner, running at nearly 18 miles per hour, makes what could be the catch of the year

Brett Gardner decided to lay down in the stands... and rob a home run!

Brett Gardner, the Yankees left fielder, robbed a potential home run by the Angels' C.J. Cron by making a catch on his back. That's right... on his back!

This could be the best catch of the season in the MLB. Gardner was running at nearly 18 miles per hour before he jumped, landed on his back on top of the left field wall, and somehow managed to both hang on to the ball and not fall back into the stands.

Gardner has some competition for the catch here too because three fans directly behind him also wanted in on the action.

We can't imagine there will be a catch more spectacular than that this season.
