This is by far the scariest play in baseball. A line drive right back up the middle that nails the pitcher in the face. That's what happened in Tuesday's game between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox.
In the top of the first, Melky Cabrera hit a rocket up the middle that bounced off of Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco's face. Carrasco was down for a couple of minutes before trainers helped him onto a cart and off of the field.
The good sign is that he was conscious when he got up. He also helped limit the damage by getting a piece of the ball on his glove before it hit his face, so it definitely could have been worse.
Let's hope that everything is OK for Carrasco.
