Another change is coming to an ESPN primetime show, but this time it isn't management's decision.

Dan Shulman is stepping down from his role as the play-by-play announcer for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball after the 2017 season, according to Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch.

Shulman has called baseball for ESPN for 20 years, including Sunday Night Baseball since 2011. But he is getting remarried next year, and he wants to spend more time with his family.
"I certainly have mixed emotions about it but at the end of the day I chose to strike a better balance between my personal life and professional life," Shulman said. "I'm grateful to ESPN for giving me this opportunity, and equally grateful that they agreed to let me reconfigure my situation in order to make this work. It was not an easy choice."
Shulman will still call his regular amount of college basketball games, and he will also still call the MLB playoffs for ESPN Radio and some midweek baseball games. He had to restructure his contract for his new, more limited role, but the two sides were able to reach a deal.
ESPN hasn't announced a replacement for Shulman yet for the Sunday Night Baseball position, but it will be a highly sought after job.
