Dodgers Fans Line Up Outside Stadium Eight Hours Early Ahead Of Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead Night

LOS ANGELES — A massive line has started forming outside of Dodgers stadium, as early as 11:00 am (local PT time), because fans are ensuring themselves a chance at receiving their very own Shohei Ohtani bobblehead.

That is to say, the first 40,000 fans through the ticket gate will receive one, so considering the stadium capacity is only 56,000 people, the fans may have gotten there a tad bit early.

The Dodgers are set to host the Baltimore Orioles, with the first pitch starting at 7:10 pm PT. In view of the time, with dozens and maybe hundreds of fans camping out all day, it makes one wonder if they called in sick at work just for this?

With this in mind, they may not be so crazy after all, as the new bobblehead will feature Shohei and his dog 'Decoy,' which will likely end up being a highly coveted piece of memorabilia.

Even more, there will be a gold plated color way, that will lead to mind-boggling high resell prices.

Even Ohtani's teammates want the bobblehead of him, as pitcher Joe Kelly was willing to trade his glove to a fan, in exchange for one.

To point out, the first release of a bobblehead featuring Ohtani in a Dodgers' uniform took place back in May, and had 1,700/40,000 of them feature a grey uniform version. As a result, this resulted in so much hype that there were actually ones listed on eBay selling for over $1,000.

As of now, the Dodgers organization has yet to specify how many gold edition ones will be released for the 8/28 Ohtani bobblehead night #2, but you can expect that there certainly will be ones listed online with a lucrative price tag starting tomorrow after the game.

Notably, in Ohtani's first year on the Dodgers, he is currently batting .291, with 94 RBI's, 101 runs, 41 home runs, and there is still a month of regular season baseball left.
