Freddie Freeman has probably had better ideas than this one.

The Los Angeles Dodgers star took a terrifying fall into the Kansas City Royals' dugout Wednesday night while chasing a foul ball during his team's 4-2 victory.
With one out in the eighth inning, Isaac Collins sent a popup toward the first-base side. The MLB star tracked it all the way to the dugout and attempted to lean over what he thought would be a railing.
Small problem. There wasn't one.
"I was going to lean against the rail to catch the ball," Freeman told reporters. "And obviously, there was no rail."
Freeman plunged down the stairs and crashed onto the dugout floor, leaving a suddenly quiet Dodger Stadium waiting to see if he was OK.
Thankfully, the 36-year-old eventually got back to his feet as fans chanted his name.

Freeman somehow avoided hitting his head during the fall, which could've made an already frightening situation considerably worse.
"Luckily I was tall," he joked, "so I missed everything else."
Freeman actually stayed in the game long enough to finish the inning before the adrenaline wore off. Tommy Edman pinch-hit for him in the bottom of the eighth.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts described Freeman as dealing with "total body soreness," including pain in his shoulder, hand, knee and foot.
The good news is Freeman didn't require X-rays and was listed as day to day. He's even hopeful he'll be able to play Thursday. Oh, and he never caught the ball.
"Not my first time," Freeman joked about taking a similar tumble years ago. "I didn't catch that one either."
