One Kansas City Royals fan wanted Salvador Perez's historic home run ball badly enough to take a trip to jail for it.

Perez blasted the 317th home run of his career during the seventh inning of Kansas City's 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants, tying George Brett for the most in franchise history.
The 437-foot shot landed in the fountains beyond the right-center field wall at Kauffman Stadium.
That's when things got interesting.
A fan jumped into the fountain in pursuit of the baseball, eventually drawing the attention of stadium security. Photos shared from the scene showed the fan being placed in handcuffs before police escorted him from the stadium.
Kauffman Stadium doesn't leave much ambiguity about fountain jumping, either. The Royals' official policies warn that any fan who enters a fountain is subject to immediate arrest.
The fan was later released, according to Fox 4 Kansas City.
Perez, for his part, couldn't exactly blame the guy.
"If was him, I'd maybe jump too and try to get that ball," Perez told reporters while asking police to send the fan home.

The homer itself was another milestone in what has become one of the greatest careers in Royals history.
Perez, 36, has spent his entire 15-year MLB career in Kansas City. The longtime catcher and Royals captain is a nine-time All-Star, five-time Gold Glove winner and five-time Silver Slugger winner. He also earned World Series MVP honors after helping Kansas City defeat the New York Mets in 2015.
"That was a super exciting moment," Perez said of tying Brett's record. "Especially doing it here in Kansas City."
For one particularly determined Royals fan, it was apparently exciting enough to take the plunge.
