We never think about how dangerous it could be watching a baseball game from the stands, especially those fans near the action down by the field. At tonight's Athletics-Red Sox game, a fan was stretchered out of the stadium after getting hit with A's third baseman Brett Lawrie's broken bat.

According to the Boston Globe, the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital. We wish her and her family the best and hope she makes a speedy recovery.
