Matt Bush, who was the first overall pick in the 2004 MLB Draft, was arrested in Texas on Friday after causing an accident while intoxicated. According to Arlington Police Department, per TMZ, police say they first attempted to pull over Bush at around 8:25 pm, as he appeared to be driving his 2023 Lincoln Aviator erratically.

Then later he sped off and got away, but around five minutes later Bush was seen running a red light, which ended up causing a car accident in the middle of the intersection.
That is when Bush, 38, got out of his vehicle and started to flee the scene by running away. However, he didn't get far as pedestrians held him down until the cops were able to arrive.
Following this, Bush was at first transferred to a nearby hospital, and was found to be intoxicated. Yet the former MLB pitcher seemingly did not want to cooperate with authorities, as he denied all sobriety tests and elected to not speak to investigators.
Even so, the police were able to arrest him and get him on three charges that included DWI, accident involving injury, and evading. To point out this is not first time that Bush has been charged with a DWI, as he had run-ins with the law two previous times for a similar offense.
In view of his playing career, Bush pitched a total of six seasons in the MLB, appearing in 217 games for the Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers, contributing a mere 12 wins and 15 saves, while putting up a 3.75 ERA and 1.20 WHIP.
