Francisco Lindor delivered in a major way for the New York Mets on the final day of the MLB regular season. In what was already a chaotic day due to the nature of the doubleheader between the Mets and the Atlanta Braves, Lindor came through in the ninth inning with a two-run blast that put the Mets up and provided all of the runs they needed before recording the final three outs. The Lindor homer will certainly go down in Mets lore.

New York had fallen behind by three runs before storming back late and regaining the lead. The Braves then capitalized on a huge Ozzie Albies double to pull ahead once again and set themselves in a prime position to secure the playoff spot.
Then Lindor struck.
Francisco Lindor with the most important Mets homer in recent memory. You can't make this stuff up.
"M-V-P!" chants at Truist Park.

"So happy to see Francisco Lindor get his marquee moment in New York," another fan wrote onX. "Was a legend in Cleveland and deserves to have his moment to shine for the Mets Still wish he was wearing that Cleveland uniform."
"I don't care if Shohei [Ohtani] gets the MVP. In my eyes, Francisco Lindor is the MVP of the 2024 season. What he has done has been magical," another fan wrote on X.
Lindor finishes the season batting .273 with 33 home runs and 91 RBI to go along with 29 stolen bases. It's his second straight season with 30 or more homers.

All is not lost for the Braves, who will have a chance to capture a playoff spot with a win in the second part of the doubleheader on Monday. That being said, Lindor's bomb makes life a whole lot stressful for Mets fans as they head into the evening knowing that their team is headed to the postseason.
