Marlins Take Food Game to Another Level With 2-Foot ‘Machete’

Every MLB team is preparing for Opening Day by showing off their new food options for baseball fans to enjoy. The Miami Marlins are taking this time-honored tradition to another level with the "Machete."

This new food item is going to cause a stir in South Florida. The Machete features a homemade flour tortilla measuring two feet in length. It is grilled on a flat top after being stuffed with melted mozzarella and Oaxaca cheeses, house-marinated carne asada, smoky guajillo pepper sauce, salsa verde, and cilantro.

The Marlins and Levy Restaurants did not stop by simply making a massive tortilla. They also created a custom carrying case so that baseball fans could have an easier time making it back to their seats.

The Machete is ridiculous, but it also shows that the Marlins understood the assignment. It's important to have unique food options at baseball stadiums around the country. It only further enhances the game day experience.

The Marlins are far from the only team getting in on the action, however. Many other teams have shown off their best items ahead of Opening Day.

This group includes the Los Angeles Dodgers, who made a portable water cooler for the fans. This particular cooler features a white Dodgers logo. It holds a Watermelon Habanero Margarita.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, for comparison, decided to reveal two new sizes of nacho buckets. The "smaller" bucket is a mere 64 ounces. The larger is 128 ounces. These nachos can feature either barbacoa, carnitas, or fajita veggies as the signature topping.

The Diamondbacks did not stop with the nachos. The team also created a Footlong Elote Corn Dog and a Take Me Out To The Ballgame Shake featuring whipped cream, Cracker Jack, Kit Kats, and Nutter Butters on top of a salted caramel milkshake.

The Seattle Mariners went to the seas for their unique creation. The team created a ferry boat that can hold a variety of food items and two sauce cups. It also floats in case fans want to snack on chicken tenders in the hot tub.
