The possibility of a salary cap in MLB has become a hot topic since the formal proposal back in May. Now, the MVP of the All-Star Game has weighed in with some comments.

"I think if the billionaires are wanting it, they're billionaires for a reason," New York Yankees player Cody Bellinger said in a video captured by SNY.
"They want to continue to enhance their portfolio as much as possible and us players understand that. So the answer to your question is, no good."
The discussion surrounding a salary cap happens as the end of the current collective bargaining agreement approaches. It will expire on Dec. 1, 2026, which could lead to a lockout if a new deal is not in place.
MLB has sought to implement a salary cap, something that is in place in the NFL, NHL, and NBA. The MLBPA has pushed back and said that it would never accept this.
The tensions have only increased as the negotiations have continued. Interim MLBPA chief Bruce Meyer has held press conferences and provided updates. He has also publicly criticized MLB's "Level the Playing Field" campaign, which has pushed advertisements on MLB.TV.
The league has said that fans "overwhelmingly support" a salary cap and floor while pointing to a $446 million spending gap between the top and bottom teams in the league.
The league said that its proposal would level the playing field while sharing the baseball revenue 50/50 with players.
Meyer has pushed back on the campaign while saying that the "supposed stewards of the game" have spent time trying to convince baseball fans that they shouldn't have hope and that the product they watch is broken.
Bellinger is not the only player who weighed in on this debate during All-Star week. Max Muncy, who plays for the back-to-back World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, said that, "The biggest thing for me is every other league has a cap. And not one of those players like it. So why would we agree to something that no other player likes?"
Cincinnati Reds player Sal Stewart said that he thinks it's bad for everyone while Los Angeles Angels player Mike Trout said that he thinks it's bad for the game.
