MLB Fans Growing Frustrated with TBS Broadcast and The Bob Costas-Ron Darling Pairing

MLB fans are not thrilled about the TBS broadcast so far in the playoffs, including its top pairing of Bob Costas and Ron Darling.

The list of complaints runs the gamut, but the two biggest gripes that are running rampant across social media is the lowering of the crowd noise and the way the Costas-Darling duo is calling their games.

There certainly does seem to be some crowd noise shuddering being utilized. I mean, there are times the crowd is clearly making noise but the crack of the bar sounds about 10 times louder. When it comes to playoff baseball (or any sport's postseason, for that matter), hearing the ferocity of the home crowd is an essential part of the experience.

"This TBS broadcast is picking up absolutely zero crowd noise," one X user commented. "Feels like this game is being played in a morgue."

The MLB TBS postseason broadcast has been underwhelming so far as fans are growing bored of the broadcast duo and growing annoyed at audio issues.

Another fan added on X, "I hate how much TBS is lowering the Yankees stadium crowd noise on the broadcast!  Be better TBS!!"

In addition to the issues with the audio levels, fans are also growing sick of the broadcasters. There's a certain level of energy that fans come to expect during these important games.

Costas doesn't seem to be hitting the highs enough.

On that same note, another X user feels as though Costas' tenor is more like a storytime circle, "Bob Costas sounds like he's reading Green Eggs and Ham to a kindergarten class at all times."

It's also becoming obvious that Costas and Darling aren't as cohesive as they should be. One X account wrote, "The broadcast team of Bob Costas and Ron Darling have the chemistry of two people standing in line."

Some bad news for fans who are already over these TBS broadcasts: the network has MLB postseason television rights through 2028. The contract allows TBS one League Championship Series, two Division Series, and one Wild Card matchup each year.
