Major League Baseball has handed down punishment following a benches-clearing incident between the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers.

Mariners reliever Gabe Speier received a three-game suspension and manager Dan Wilson was suspended for one game after MLB determined Speier intentionally threw at Tigers infielder Gleyber Torres.
Both were also fined an undisclosed amount.
The incident occurred during the eighth inning of Seattle's 4-2 victory over Detroit when Speier hit Torres in the left leg with a 96.3 mph fastball. It was the second consecutive pitch Speier threw inside.
That came only a half-inning after Tigers reliever Enmanuel De Jesus drilled Mariners star Cal Raleigh in the ribs with a 94.7 mph fastball.
The benches cleared following the Torres hit-by-pitch, and both Speier and Wilson were ejected.
Speier has appealed his three-game suspension, meaning he can continue playing until that process is completed.
Wilson didn't have that option. Managers can't appeal suspensions, so he served his one-game punishment during Thursday's series finale.
"It is what the rule is, and not that I agree, but that's where we are," Wilson said.
There was already some history between the teams.
A series in Detroit two months earlier featured several hit batters and tense moments, including Seattle's Josh Naylor taking a 96 mph fastball in the back following a series of physical plays.
Wednesday's game added another chapter.
"These things tend to bring guys together," Wilson said. "It tends to cultivate intensity."
