The veteran Fox Sports reporter went viral over the weekend when he toppled Brewers photographer Scott Paulus during a postgame celebration and appeared, for a split second, to stand over him with an Ali-over-Liston glare.

Rosenthal addressed the incident Monday on Foul Territory, insisting it was nothing more than a bad accident at the wrong time.

"I want to talk about what happened Saturday night when I accidentally bowled over Scott Paulus while I was getting out of the way of the Brewers dumping water on Andruw Monasterio," Rosenthal said. "Now the ever-observant A.J. Pierzynski joked afterward that I looked like Muhammad Ali standing over Sonny Liston. When I looked at the video, I was surprised at how upset I appeared. I was more confused than anything. We were live, folks, on national television. Couldn't stop. That said, I felt awful about what happened."

Rosenthal explained that he has known Paulus "for years" and made sure to apologize immediately after the game.

"I apologized profusely," Rosenthal said. "I don't expect knocking someone down to happen in any situation. But if I do see the Brewers in the World Series, I look forward to working with Scott again in the photo pit — and sharing a good laugh with him over this."

The Brewers provided the backdrop for the blooper by winning in walk-off fashion, 9-8 in 10 innings, to improve to an MLB-best 91-58.
