It's the MLB All-Star celebration, which generally means the best of the best. Unless, of course, you're counting the Star-Spangled Banner.
Anyone who heard singer Ingrid Andress belt out the national anthem ahead of the Home Run Derby can tell you that. In a word, it was brutal.

It used to be that Fergie of Black-Eyed Peas fame was known for her terrible national anthem showing. But alas, Andress may be the new queen. She sounded so lousy the crowd in Arlington, Texas, MLB fans didn't know whether to laugh, cry, boo or cheer that it was over. So they did all of the above.

Many users on X, formerly Twitter, compared the performance to Fergie's equally talked-about rendition of the song at the 2018 NBA All-Star game."
It wasn't just social media users who complained about Andress' anthem attempt.
"My ears are bleeding. One of the worst national anthem renditions ever," wrote Houston Astros writer Michael Schwab.
"Fergie watching Ingrid Andress claim her crown for worst national anthem of all time," wrote San Francisco Giants player Malik Nabers.
Added CBS News:
"Andress and Fergie aren't the only ones to get negative attention for their anthem performances. In 1990, Roseanne Barr's rendition at a San Diego Padres game was criticized by many, but the actress defended her performance. 'Geez, gimme a break. I was just trying to sing a song,' she told CBS Los Angeles at the time, according to the Roanoke Times. "I apologize that people were so appalled.'"
And appalled again they were.
