Phillies Fan Gets Obliterated by Security Guard After Running Onto Field

Are the Philadelphia Eagles looking for a new linebacker? If so, they may have just found their guy.

After the Philadelphia Phillies finished demolishing the Arizona Diamondbacks during Game 2 of the NLCS on Tuesday night, one fan decided to jump down onto the field and parade around the outfield grass. A few seconds later, he was tackled flat on his back by a Phillies security guard.

While the tackle itself was sensational, the whole incident was made even more memorable by the Phillies' fans reactions in the video when witnessed the hit live. In fact, the game's TBS broadcast showed Bryce Harper and a few other Phillies players reacting to the tackle as they were lining up for postgame handshakes after their 10-0 rout of Arizona.

It's not as if the Phillies' faithful needed anything more to cheer about on Tuesday night. On top of the 10-run win, the Phillies set numerous records during Game 2: hit the most homers in a four-game postseason span (14) in MLB history; tied the record for most players with multi-homer games in a postseason (four, in a span of four games); became the second Phillies team to score double-digit runs in multiple postseason games; had the highest run differential in any eight-game span in a postseason (+33); and produced the Diamondbacks' first postseason shutout loss in franchise history — all of which was capped off by a security guard trucking one foolish fan. Sounds like a perfect night at the ballpark.

While it seems at the moment that the Phillies can't be beat, the Diamondbacks are hoping they'll cool down once they head to Arizona for Games 3-5 of the NLCS, which take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Perhaps what the Diamondbacks need to reverse this series' momentum is for one of their own security guards to truck a fan. Yet that would require another fan being idiotic enough to run onto the field — which is always a dumb idea. Not only would it likely end up with a night spent in jail and a lifetime ban from your team's field, but the Phillies might be too hot for anything to stop them right now anyway.
