Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes became the first overall pick to be selected to the MLB All-Star game. To celebrate this achievement, Skenes' influencer girlfriend Olivia Dunne, surprised him with a party.

The social media influencer made a congratulations post to her 5.3 million Instagram followers, "he's an ALL STAR!" Which apparently was commemorated with champagne and pizza.

The two were a notable athlete power couple at LSU, as Skenes won a baseball national title in 2023, while Dunne helped the school win the gymnastics NCAA championship back in April of this year.
That is to say, it was also recently announced that Dunne will be returning to the LSU gymnastics team for her fifth season.
In 10 games so far this season, Skenes has never lost, as he is currently sporting a 5-0 record, to go with a 2.12 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. Notably, Skenes has yet to give up more than three earned runs in any outing, and he has recorded 7+ strikeouts in all but one appearance on the mound since becoming a major leaguer.
It was Paul Skenes Day in Pittsburgh on Thursday.

"In terms of getting drafted first overall, getting called up whenever I was called up, and now the All-Star game, there were no expectations for me," Skenes said. "It's kind of just about doing as much as I can and allowing others to make the decision for me. And so it's been a lot that's happened over the course of a year. It hasn't necessarily been a whirlwind or anything like that, but looking back, it's gone quick."
The MLB All-Star game will be played on July 16 (8 pm ET) at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, as Skenes and the National League team will take on the American League team in the Midsummer Classic.
