U.S. President Donald Trump is evidently a big Pete Rose fan, as the Commander-in-Chief made an announcement Friday night that he will be signing a complete pardon for the MLB's all-time hits leader.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump went on a tirade, seemingly upset over Rose not being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame while still alive.

He called out the MLB, indirectly bashing Commissioner Robert Manfred.
"Baseball, which is dying all over the place, should get off its fat, lazy a**, and elect Pete Rose to the Hall of Fame," Trump wrote.
Notably, back in 1989, Rose was banned from the MLB after being caught betting on games while serving as manager for the Cincinnati Reds.
However, as Trump pointed out, he never bet against his team to lose... which means Rose evidently never was 'throwing games.'
"A complete PARDON of Pete Rose, who shouldn't have been gambling on baseball, but only bet on HIS TEAM WINNING."
With this in mind, Rose's HOF eligibility has long been debated in baseball as he also faced other scandals, such as felony tax fraud for not reporting income ($354,968) from autograph and memorabilia sales (1984-1987).
That is, Rose spent six months behind bars (1990-91), after pleading guilty to filing two false income tax returns.
Nevertheless, despite all that, Trump holds the same belief as many baseball fans.
"The career record for most hits is 4,256 by Pete Rose, who is not in the Hall of Fame."
