The San Francisco Giants’ PR staff stepped in it with this awful tweet

Questionable tweet from Giants dampens an already dark night.

A miserable night for the San Francisco Giants was made even worse when a questionable tweet was sent out by the team's official Twitter account.

The Giants took a step backwards in their chase for a playoff spot with their 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They're now tied with the Dodgers for the second wild-card berth with 12 games left to play.

A bench-clearing brawl also nearly erupted when Madison Bumgarner exchanged words with Yasiel Puig after a play which nearly pegged Puig with a throw to first base.

But all that took a back seat to a tweet apparently sent by the Giants' PR staff that could easily be, and probably was, misconstrued.

The tweet refers to Bumgarner having struck out the Dodgers' Kiké Hernandez three times in the game. And opting to use three K's, an acronym for the hate group the Ku Klux Klan, with Kiké Hernandez's name makes it look like a giant ethnic slur over social media. The tweet was promptly deleted and the Giants made no mention of it, which might be the safest play with such a sensitive issue.
