This pitcher has had it rough, and it started with a line drive that nearly broke his face

This guy's middle name must be "Bad Luck."

Yankees pitcher Bryan Mitchell took a shot last August that nearly broke his face. Mitchell understandably buckled down, covering his face as blood gushed through his fingers. He was later diagnosed with a nasal fracture.

Mitchell had since been sent down to play for the Bronx Bombers and can't seem to avoid the DL. While covering first base for the Bombers, Mitchell hurt his big toe, somehow.

The injury will keep Mitchell out a minimum of three months. His injury leaves the Yankees extremely thin at pitcher, with injuries also to relief pitcher Andrew Miller.

In just his second year in the majors, Mitchell has played a total of 23 games. Not the start he was expecting, I'm assuming.
